FAQS
We-Bore-it is a nationwide contracting company that provides turnkey underground construction services. We-Bore-It crews are dispatched from throughout the country. All We-Bore-It contracting partners meet a stringent vetting and approval process before they are authorized to work for our company. Whether our crews are in-house, contracting partners, or a combination thereof, you can rest assured in knowing that We-Bore-It represents you the customer and your project. We are beholden to you our customer and until you sign off on the project we remain actively involved and engaged in all day to day operations.
We-Bore-It has successfully bored under roadways, driveways, building foundations, parking lots, railroads, runways, golf courses, densely wooded areas, ponds, tributaries, lakes, and rivers. Additionally We-Bore-It is known for boring in areas where others say they cannot. We bore through rock, sand, clay, bluffs, and more.
We-Bore-It can conduct directional boring and trenching operations in warm or cold weather. Cold and snow weather does pose unique challenges as it relates to identification of underground utilities and frost lines. Severely cold weather can prohibit (delay) operations but in most cases we deal mostly with additional time to transport and startup. Site preparation times may take longer and full restoration of frozen surface areas sometimes will require a follow up site visit in the spring.
One of the many benefits of trenchless technology (Directional Boring) is that its impact to the surrounding area is very minimal. However, there are times when trenching is preferred method and as a result trench lines will need to be backfilled, compacted and restoration of surface areas such as lawns, wild grass, concrete, asphalt. Your We-Bore-It Project Coordinator will review these costs and where possible provide you with options to reduce restoration costs to you the customer.
We-Bore-It prides itself on providing affordable and reliable services. Often times there are additional costs in addition to actual boring or trenching activities. There are times when “open cuts” must be made in roadways but these costs will be identified and calculated into our quote. When you receive a quote from We-Bore-It, it is a complete quote.
Directional boring (horizontal drilling) is a very efficient method of getting into an area, setting up and commencing operations. Open Trenching depending on depth and local ordinances can require additional labor, planning, supervision, safety precautions, and restoration. Urban areas such as water crossings, high traffic areas, pedestrian traffic, railroad spurs, and airports are ideal for directional drilling. Rural areas with low vehicle and pedestrian traffic tend to be better suited for open trenching. Your We-Bore-It Project Coordinator will review your project with you and again after performing a site survey to best determine what options are available to you the customer.
We-Bore-It can perform rock boring operations by using larger and more powerful equipment to accomplish the project. However, due to the nature of rock boring, the larger specialized equipment and maintenance costs, boring in rocky or solid rock is more costly than in less dense surfaces such as soil, clay, sand, and gravel. All We-Bore-It quotes address the matter of rock boring and your Project Coordinator will work with you should it be determined that rock boring may be required.
We-Bore-It is much more than a underground directional drilling and trenching company, we can provide you with assistance in the areas of project consulting, engineering, project management, logistics, equipment, and in sourcing materials (i.e. HDPE, steel, ductile iron, PVC, cable vaults, pull boxes, etc.). We-Bore-It’s services are totally scalable, so we can be a component of your project plan or if you would like, we can turnkey your entire project.
We-Bore-It Directional Boring and Trenching is a member of the Power Communications and Contractors Association (PCCA).
